At Hybrid Martial Arts we teach a traditional and modern style of JKD, everyone is welcome and encouraged to try and have a go. Wether it’s your first foray into the world of martial arts or just looking for something else to add to your repertoire, we welcome everyone. You will learn how to express yourself in a variety of different manners including but not limited to, basic combat \/ self defence skills, trapping, combos, wooden dummy forms, variety of kicks and much more. All of our instructors have been vetted and DBS checked, they are professional practitioners, fully insured to instruct and also first aid trained, you can check their individual instructor details via the British Martial Arts & Boxing Association website at the bottom of the page.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Jun Fan Kung Fu or otherwise known as Jeet Kune Do is a martial art that was conceived and developed by the self defence and unarmed combat experiences of the world famous martial artist Bruce Lee.  Bruce had studied various other martial arts throughout his life and as such JKD has been described as a hybrid martial art and often referred to as the beginnings and foundation of modern MMA. <\/p>\n<\/div>

During the mid 1960\u2019s Bruce Lee began to develop and teach Jun Fan Gung Fu by utilising much of what he had been taught during his time in China and America, techniques such as Wing Chun where he studied under the Grand Master Yip man, Fencing, Boxing, Karate, Tai Chi (taught by his father), Judo and street fighting.  <\/p>\n<\/div>
